The sky here was always thick with clouds and soot, casting heavy shadows and blood-tinged light upon everything. But not now. The clouds parted and a beam of pure sunlight lanced down, limning Uther as he waded into the assembled Horde. The Paladin became a figure of pure light, awesome and terrifying, his every blow crushing orc warriors left and right. The other Paladins joined him, his light suffusing them as well. The Silver Hand had expanded in the months since the war had begun, and now numbered twelve under Uther’s command and not counting Turalyon. Those twelve waded into the combat, their hammers and axes and swords glowing with their faith, and the rest of the Alliance soldiers pulled back to give them space. The orcs turned and faced their new foes. It was a brutal battle, savages versus zealots, shining mail against tattoos and piercings. The orcs were strong, tough, and crazed enough to not notice pain. But the Paladins were filled with righteous anger and the power of their faith, and their holy auras caused more than one orc to turn away when attacking.“The power was too much,” said Medivh. “When I was a young man, younger than you, it awoke within me, and I slept for over twenty years. Magna Aegwynn had so much of a life, and I seem to have lost most of it.” His voice faltered again. “Magna Aegwynn…my mother…” he began, but found he had nothing more to say. Khadgar just sat there wow power leveling for a moment. Then Medivh rose, shook back his mane and said, “And while I slept, evil crept back into the world. There are more demons, and more of these orcs as well. And now members of my own Order wow power leveling are once more playing the dark road. Yes, Huglar and Hugarin were members of the Order, as have been others, like ancient Arrexis among the Kirin Tor. Yes, something similar happened to him, and while they covered it up neatly, you probably heardsomething about it. They feared my mother’s power, and they fear me, and I have to keep their fear from destroying them. Such is the charge laid upon the Guardian of Tirisfal.” The older man launched wow power leveling himself to his feet. “I must be off!” he said. “Off?” said Khadgar, suddenly surprised by the energy within the lanky frame. “As you have so rightly noted, there is a demon abroad,” said Medivh with a renewed smile. “Sound the hunter’s horn, I must find it before it regains its wits and strength and kills others!” Khadgar pulled wow power leveling himself upright. “Where do we start?” Medivh pulled himself up short, and turned, looking slightly sheepishly at the younger man. “Ah.We are not starting zxcmicobco anywhere. I am going to go. You’re talented, but you’re not up to demons quite yet. This battle is wow power leveling my own, Young Apprentice Trust.” “Magus, I am sure I can…” But Medivh raised a hand to silence him. “I also need you here to keep your own ears open,” said Medivh, in a quieter voice. “I have no doubt that Old Lothar has spent the past ten minutes with his ear to the door, such that there will be a keyhole-shaped impression wow power leveling on the side of his face.” Medivh grinned. “He knows a lot, but not all. That’s why I had to tell you, so he doesn’t pry too much out of you. I need someone to guard the Guardian, as it were.” With this advantage the Paladins ringed the savage orcs, cutting down one after another until the last lay dead at their feet. “Good work,” Lothar was saying when another sentry ran up to him. What now? he wondered wearily. Another attack? “Another attack!” the soldier gasped, echoing his thought. “This time to the west!” “Damn them,” Lothar muttered, spurring his horse again and racing toward the new location. They were smart, he had to give them that. He had not expected an attack and his men were not ready for it. Most of them had relaxed, counting on a long slow siege, and some had even removed their armor, though he had ordered them to stay alert just in case. Now they were paying the price for their laxity. And if the orcs were able to weaken enough spots along their line with these sudden attacks, they could break through and escape into the rest of the mountain range. It could take months, even years to track all of them down, and that would give the Horde time enough to rebuild and try again.
